Comic Affirmations, 85-91
An exercise in simplified line and positive thinking, a daily affirmation comic for the 2024 100 Day Project.
I outlined the comic affirmations self-portrait project I am doing for the 2024 100 Day Project in this post. (Links to previous weeks are at the bottom of this page—or browse here.) I am updating a “weekly” page each morning, so this page will be updated each day as the week unfolds.
85/100: I trust somewhere along the way I did something right.
(Thoughts on day 85: This was (partly) for and on Mother’s Day. It is a reflective day. When I sat to sort out my affirmation, I landed here, thinking both about my life and my role as a mother. [I wrote another bunch of words about this one, but I’ll leave the image here with just this short note.])
86/100: There is room for my voice, for the note in my song.
(Thoughts on day 86: This is something I believe for each of us. But it is something we do have to remind ourselves of, especially when it sometimes seems like there is only room for a few—and those few often work, subtly or not, to reinforce that impression. Pretending that there aren’t those deliberately shutting people out, eliding stories, and banding together to close circles is naïve. For anyone on the outside, keep reminding yourself your voice matters. Stay true to you. Stand up tall.)
Paywall note: The remainder of the post is available to paid subscribers. I will be sharing this project at various points, so the rest of the week will be shared in a public post later.
Note: Because I have put up the wall, comments are available only to paying subscribers. This is the way Substack works. You can comment on the Sunday post, or at Instagram.
