Episode 238: Goat (or Unicorn)

A goat, a unicorn, a dog, a streak of hair color, and lots of talk about the 2017 Index Card a Day Challenge.
Episode 238 - Goat

Snapped this photo at the library, so you are seeing a hazy magazine cover through it’s protective plastic library cover, and the afternoon light bouncing from the big library windows. At this size… what I saw doesn’t show up. It’s when you see this picture smaller (or farther away) that the mis-seeing happens.

Episode 238 of the CMP, a Creativity Matters Podcast

In this episode of the CMP, a strange goat sighting (or was it a unicorn?), plans for a streak of color, and a rundown on the Index-Card-a-Day Challenge (ICAD). Get your cards, get inspired, and sign up now! (Challenge starts June 1.)

ICAD cards

My ICAD 2016 cards

“Heroes know that things must happen when it is time for them to happen. A quest may not simply be abandoned; unicorns may go unrescued for a long time, but not forever; a happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story.” ~ Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

The Flow of Episode 238 (and LOTS of ICAD links):

  • I thought I saw a goat at the library

  • Then I realized it probably really looked like a unicorn (and my brain just tossed that out as improbable

  • You never ever thought I would talk about unicorns (me either!)

  • Unicorns fall right in line with the “I am so not mystical” Wander show (Episode 232)

  • A needlepoint unicorn cover floats into memory

  • A caution to be careful what artifacts from your childhood you dismiss and throw out

  • A magazine ad discovered doing collage that I ripped out because of Teresa (Right Brain Planner)

  • seeing what you seek // unicorns and imaginating (a post from Teresa with unicorns)

  • Teresa has unicorn washi

  • I contemplate a streak of color in my hair (and it shows up in my May graphic novel pages, too)

  • Quote from The Last Unicorn (Peter S. Beagle)

  • Official ICAD base (DaisyYellow)

  • Official ICAD FAQ (DaisyYellow)

  • 2017 Prompts (when ICAD begins)

  • ICAD in Episodes of the CMP before or during ICAD 2016:

  • Guest artist card, 2016 (2015 may no longer be posted)
