Acid testing is a great idea 💡 I love how ICAD has been so integral and intertwined in our creative lives ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ thank you for “getting” the essence of the idea and for your encouragement over the years!!!
I see other people’s cards (I’m looking at you Amy and Tammy) and I’m so inspired to do the challenge. Last year I did not succeed, but I was so firmly in the habit of working in my journal every day, that I couldn’t manage both.
I’m still journaling, but struggling with maintaining a daily practice. This might be the ticket to get me back in the groove.
I have considered a few things. A few years ago I made an animated flip book using index cards. I thought about doing a frame per day.
I think we all know that my cats are currently taking up a LOT of space in my life, so a cat series would be appropriate. Maybe even drawn from life. I could even experiment with a new medium, outside of my usual black fine liner and watercolors. Brush pen? Fountain pen?
I always say I’m going to do something abstract, to free myself up. I could do taped grids, use crayons and inks.
So many choices. Maybe an acid test is just the thing. But where are my index cards…
Laura - Thanks for this comment. I know we talked about this in our group today after you left this, and I’m glad we did! I’m glad I got the chance to hear you clarify the flip book idea. (I don’t know why I didn’t realize initially what you meant.) That’s a very cool plan. I can see the cats being a great subject matter. I DO think testing is a good idea — once or twice, my test has helped clarify for me that something was a good idea for sometime, but not something I wanted to do “now” or for x days straight.
I love creative challenges, but I have never heard of this one, it such a fun idea. I love seeing your illustrations, portraits video, so thanks for sharing. Will have to circle back to read more about this and your post but just wanted to say hi! And curious what you create this summer.

Thanks, Tammy. You created a wonderful challenge and have inspired so many through the years.

I’m still thinking, too.

Thanks, Susan. ICAD can be a great challenge, if you're looking for something daily in the summer. I appreciate you commenting!
