I love that you said you like contours at speed. For my blind contour portraits I am doing them fast, 10 seconds or maybe a bit longer if there are more details. I love the raw look of capturing the….spirit of someone without all the bogged downness of details and “truth”.
I think I will find a picture of me and the niblings from Xmas to draw and send them!
I'm so glad to see your comments on speed. I know that most think of contours as a "slow" exercise, and I love knowing that you are doing your blink contours with more speed. This is a great way to think of it: "capturing the….spirit of someone without all the bogged downness of details and 'truth'." I think your plan for a Christmas portrait of all of you is awesome.
