Hugs. Hokey-pokey. And Humongous. (I was going to comment hugs all along and then you asked for three H words. Maybe I should have made them all hug!)

I don’t have a favorite hour of the day. That’s weird, right?

And book I plan on reading, well, I’m trying to finish ‘Slewfoot’ by Brom and after that I have no idea as my TBR pile is huge.

Thank you for the H words :) -- Interesting about the hour! I think sometimes we don’t know until we are asked, and then we realize, aha, there is a time of day that is particularly nice. Or maybe not! I haven’t heard of Slewfoot!

Hamster, hippopotamus, hare

7:00pm. It’s usually when all the evening, after dinner/work obligations are complete and I’m free to do whatever strikes my fancy.

I have no books I’m looking forward to. I read whatever intrigues me and is available at the library.

That rationale for 7PM makes a lot of sense! I appreciate that you had a clear and definitive answer to that one. I think it can be a hard question or that many might have an hour on each end that views for attention. I hope you find the perfect next read. Thank you for the H words. I sense a theme... :)

Good morning Amy! I wandered in and out of your post today. Usually Sunday mornings are uninterrupted but today is my friend’s birthday. We started with texts back and forth, then a proper chat happened! Thank you for your post and I appreciate that you highlighted some of drawings, since I am not on Instagram.

I downloaded The Enchanted Life by Sharon Blackie yesterday. (Per Janisse Ray’s suggestion) I will listen to it once I complete Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Eunice Wong.

I wish you a great week!

It sounds like a wonderful morning celebrating your friend’s birthday. That sounds lovely. Thank you for returning to the post! I often just assume readers are from Instagram, so your words are good reminders for me in terms of sharing journal art. Have a good week ahead!

Loved Vera Wong! A really fun read. Enjoyed the other books by that author too.

Amy, for the record, I don’t think your posts are too long nor your way of suggesting ways to comment too whimsical. I enjoy, and look forward to reading, your posts; they are so very human and reflective and resonant. I’m amazed at the way you continue to write, draw and create, even in the midst of so much uncertainty and upheaval. I struggle with that, and you are an inspiration.

I plan to find my copy of Robert Moss’s book today and attempt to read along. In the meantime sending you a wish for peace and strength.

Thank you, Adah. I appreciate your comment and the H words! I am glad you are going to dig out your copy of the book. Thank you again, publicly, for recommending it to me many weeks ago. It was a wonderful suggestion. I wish you a peaceful week. I don’t know if you are a journal keeper or not, but I find the time mindful.

Hilarious, hereditary, haughty.

My favorite hour of the day is 5am. A walk, morning pages, coffee before the rest of my world wakes up.

A ginkgo leaf made it into my illustrated journal this week days before I read this. I love that kind of synchronicity!

Thank you for the H words, and it’s great to see you here. I’m impressed by the 5AM... and especially by people unafraid to leave their houses at 5AM. (And I know how silly that sounds!) So....I commented on your pages at Instagram a bit ago and saw the ginkgo and started to say something about it and then thought maybe I was wrong! I loved seeing that appear in your pages. I found myself walking through ginkgo yesterday.... and I felt the layering of so many things. Have a good week ahead.

I love all times that are ‘angel numbers’ or what have you. I seem to be great at checking the time at 11:11, 3:33, 5:55, 4:44, 2:22... I always smile 😊 when it happens.

Holiday Home Harmony

4:30 am It’s when I usually get up. I love that it is dark, quiet, and I spend a glorious solitary hour with my kitty and coffee on the back porch swing.

I am reading The Best of Friends by Joanna Trollope because I read Marrying the Mistress last month and thought I’d found my new favorite author. (Not so sure, now though.)

Such an early start! I love that is your habit and that you have kitty company in that hour. Thank you for the H words, and I’m happy to see you here. (I know it’s not as convenient as listening.) I haven’t read Trollope.... I hope you end up liking the one you are in the middle of though!

Love love love the two digital panels--the repeating circles are just captivating. There's a literary journal called Night Heron Barks that I keep submitting to....and they keep rejecting my poems. Nice rejections, but rejections. So I have a complicated relationship with herons! Even so, yours is full of power.

Thank you, Kortney! I really appreciate the comment on the panels. What a fascinating connection to the night heron -- I’m sorry though.... and I appreciate the persistence and hope the next time is the one that makes it through!

Honesty, humor, heart. My favorite time of day is sunrise. There's just something about those early hours when the world is quiet, the sky is colorful, and the day is new. Those moments before getting out of bed, before the to-do list, or even the sound of my own voice. That's when I feel like I'm most myself and can hear myself think. :-)

Hi, Hello, Happy New Year Amy!

I enjoy reading your words and very often find myself or thoughts I haven't yet thought here. It feels a bit like magic. Just though I'd let you know that what you write and share is important and read.

Take care of yourself.

Not too long.its one of my favourite parts of the week. Hirsute (love that word) habaneros is just fun to say, heavenly. I'm reading the Baby Plan by Kate Rorik at the moment and next on the list is the Year of Less. Less is my word of the year. Fav time of day at the moment is 21:30 dusk 🌆 Keep writing and drawing, when all else is out of your control do a little of what you love. XX

Hey! You do not write too much.

Hah! It is better not to second guess the unfolding. Yes. I embrace -- intellectually-- the concept of emergence. But in practice I am always telling myself a story of some sort, and feel slightly betrayed to find things unfolding along a different furrow.

Huh? What would it mean to fly true? If we accept the irrationality -- or at least unpredictability-- of unfolding? And if/when we invite the various meanings and interpretations of readers, who carry their own symbolism into our thicket of freighted words?

These essays carry me into so many possibilities. I look forward to them, even when I’m late.

Hey! Hah! And Huh? You totally got a laugh out of me, and I don’t consider you late. You are perfectly timed to this party. Thank you -- I always love when I see you have commented. You are an enigma. Yes.... the always telling a story.... and then the sense of betrayal..... and how sort of embarrassing to have then written and shared the story only to have it be wrong. I think that’s what I’m feeling. Thank you, as is often the case, for getting it. I like to feel like I do the huh. Both parts. (Maybe that’s wishful on my part -- but I think I bear it out in the continued writing, writing that moves at the pace of the unfolding and so is always unfolding either just ahead or behind or in parallel to the true unfolding..... Lol.) The last part is important..... definitely there is the wonderful unknown and layering that comes from what others carry to the words... that brings about a magic of its own. I am grateful for such readers, very grateful. Thank you. And I don’t think I’ve had the chance to wish you happy new year. I hope you are off to a good and inky start.

Hiccup, hatter, hippopotamus. 7 am holds potential for the day that I like.

I don’t usually buy books, but I recently ordered “Creature” by Shaun Tan. I find his approach to the creative process and is his work intriguing. It may take me a while to make the time to read through it, but I immediately enjoyed looking through the inspiring images. Thank you for your words and drawings and playful prompts.

This time, I will take the liberty of reflecting back to you just this: "Ultimately, I know that we are accelerating to an end point in my house. At that point, everything will begin to crumble. I know that my need to write my way through it will be the only hope I have."

You are enough. Your writing is yours and it supports and inspires others. And I am sorry life has dealt you, at this stage, a shitty hand. Hugs to you, Amy. Big, squeezy, and somehow, against all odds, magically non-intrusive hugs. 💛
