I have so much to say about this post that I don’t even know where to start! It made me think about what counts as a hobby as opposed to a way of life or vocation.

I related so much to your life. I am remembering my own path from art school, to now, including derailments from a teaching job, lack of access to a darkroom, parenting, isolation. I bought a negative scanner so that I can look back through my piles and piles of negatives from undergrad and grad school.

I have a lot of questions about digital journaling, and a lot of it focuses on what you mentioned about losing digital content over the years. I have lost a lot of things from switching computers, digital storage changing dramatically, etc...but I wouldn’t want to lose my journal pages.

Seventeen years! I’m selfishly so grateful for YOUR creative practices because they have inspired some of my own. And I read your weekly blog here & often marvel at the parallels in our lives. I relate to the folk art “mom craft” era especially. Thanks for continuing to show up here. My Sunday morning coffee is better because I read your words with it.
