Love this Amy! As a kid I did love animal crackers, I think it was the variety of shapes. There is a pretty cute animated Netflix movie about magic animal crackers. The frosted circus animals WERE a super treat, I recently looked and I couldn’t find any! I wonder if they are a regional thing, or something else that faded into the past.

That's funny about the animated show. I didn't know that (my kids are older, so it probably just didn't make my radar)! Seems like it might be harder to eat them.... if you watch them talking? I think they still make the frosted ones..... but they are considered "cookies" -- lol. The common brand is Mother's, I think. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Happy Sunday!

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” is something I’m fighting right now. When I get in this place, nothing gets accomplished. I need to get back to breaking these projects into manageable bites. Plan the work and work the plan as my father would say, but darn it, nothing beats the high of the honeymoon phase!😂

My daughter recently picked up a copy of Jawbone to attempt this summer. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Have a beautiful day!

Ps Suddenly I can only think about eating animal crackers!

Breaking things down into smaller pieces.... tracking.... staying focused.... yes! I like that saying - "plan the work and work the plan." Oh.... cool about Jawbone! It's the first time I had heard of it, but I think it sounds cool. Hope you had a great Sunday.

I was really into animal crackers as a kid, the ones in the red box with the string. They were considered a special treat, so I still feel like I am getting crazy if I buy a box. 😆

I am very intrigued by Box one!

I'm glad I mentioned Box One then! The Exit games really are a lot of fun. If you like puzzle games, you might find some of those playable solo, too. Funny how those childhood moments stick with us. I'd say you deserve a little red box someday soon.

This spoke to me -- in thinking of visual art and writing as two very different practices: "Writing is also different. It’s a different vehicle, a different stream, a different mindset. It’s more innate, more intuitive. The flow is different and much, much harder to stem. And everything takes space."

Thanks, Tammy. I know you do both as well, so I'm sure you sometimes run into ways in which your creative practices differ!

This is so funny! I hadn't associated animal crackers with snacks for children but with a tv program. In the Netherlands, when I grew up, we had a popular tv program that was called Animal Crackers, it had little movies of animals and a Dutch comedian had a story with funny voices to go with them.

The Netherlands do also have the snacks in the forms of animals but only with the Dutch name.

It is always fascinating to hear how these references do and do not translate, depending on where we live or where we grew up! (They originated in England.) Funny that there was a TV connection for you!
