This is not exactly relevant, but I was sooooo into view master reels as a kid. When I tried to share the magic with my kids….nope, definitely unimpressed.

I am guilty of being blind to the glimmers in my daily life. (Here is uncomfortable vulnerability) I get so absorbed in being miserable, that even if I notice the moments of beauty, they bounce off my brain without sticking, so at the end of the day I can’t think of a thing.

Despite being curmudgeonly in my mind, I do think prisms are magical, even knowing the science. It’s just a matter of getting them in the right window, so you can see the rainbows.

I don't think we had much luck with view-masters with the kids either. I'm not much on rose-colored glasses, so I have a tendency to also "not look" or "not see." And, my days are so routine that I, too, often can't tell you anything at the end of a day. But.... I know that in times where I focus differently, it can be magical. It doesn't mean everything is awesome.... but there is something about how noticing things, whatever we call them, can change how you feel. (I also love catching that light.)
