Ah I love these Amy, and I get that they are not literal depictions of active crafts or activities etc. I think they stand beautifully on their own, and I hope people could enjoy them for what they are with out expecting too many explanations or literal interpretations. I was trying to explain to my kids why I thought “puppy dog tails” were part of the nursery rhyme “what are little boys made of?” And it felt very difficult to explain allusion, metaphor, simile-even when they are words alone. I hope you don’t feel that struggle or need to have to define your lovely imagery too!
The puppy dog tails is a conundrum, indeed! Lots of discussion out there about "snips," but no real explanations for the puppy dog tails. Thank you for your feedback and for looking at this series as it continues over the course of these many days. I hope your figure drawing project is going well!
I think it works really well as a series!
Thank you!
I love 31 and 32 as a sequence. Are you actually doing origami?
They begin a sequence. Thank you. And, no.... it's not that literal. But I always appreciate a good paper crane moment.
